“How do you stay so thin?” I asked him as a child after noticing that he looked the same now as he did back when in an old image. Eyes twinkling he said “Eat two spoons less than your hunger. Thats it“.
I really had to think about this as it was the complete opposite of plate scraping admonishments most children are given if they don’t fill their stomachs which may or may not be as big as their vision. For a while I ignored it, indulged in excess and gained the appropriate corpulence as expected when one uses eating as a coping mechanism. And then, one fine day, what he said made perfect sense. In that respect its all a question of coherence because the world trains one to excess and makes it seem like the ideal standard when in reality, it isn’t. If it were then why are the people we see waddling around these days not happy? By the way, have you clicked the trick they’ve pulled in terms of sizes, furnishings and vehicles? They’re all massive now compared to what they were a few decades ago and its all part of the grift that is designed to hide the fact that most people are mad chunky these days due to the ways they’re eating.

Not just food really but all kinds of indulgence because there once was a time you watched an ep and waited, now bingeing is the standard. Same with doom scrolling and rest because these apps (and food like substances) are designed to be addictive. I started trawling my memory banks for more impulses of old country wisdom that were in tune with a different standard of living and I realized the man in question never ate anything that wasn’t freshly prepped and before a morsel had passed his lips he took a moment to appreciate it. Odd for a man that wasn’t in the slightest religious but it makes perfect sense because he was preparing his system for the food coming in whilst showing his gratitude for the fact he was eating and drawing a line under all forms of thinking to thoroughly savor the moment. No wonder he was filled by much smaller portions. It all makes sense, in retrospect.
To the modern world moderation is an obscenity and yet how few of them click that in all their excess they’ve found no happiness beyond the scope of the distraction they can afford due to the lifestyle they live. Lets forget about the cumulative effects on their health and mental wellbeing for a moment and just concentrate on the mindless shoveling. In that respect they could have a veritable banquet in front of them but the fact they aren’t present means nothing is registering on their senses as it could because they’re always thinking of whats next or comparing with past events and thus can’t appreciate the moment.
The gent in question was an immense fan of lentils. All vegetables in that respect because whilst he ate meat as well he said “The test of a true chef is how much they can do with less” because he was raised in times and climes where flesh was here and then whereas the land they tilled was plentiful and freely shared its harvest. That links in another aspect, seasonal eating. A lot of whats on your shelves as fresh isn’t and some has actually been on the planet longer than a child who has just discovered crawling. Disturbing, isn’t it? And thats before we get into the altered genetics, chemical additions, methods to kill weeds and things as well as radiation bursts before shipping and a host of other things. Safe to say that the food you eat these days may look ripe but its pure fakeness as its lacking in vibration, vitality and vigor. In that respect you consume more and get less. How fitting for the modern age…
You know you can grow quite a lot in not a little bit of space? Its also quite calming as you’re connecting to the planet and nourishing that which will gladly provide the same. The art of moderation takes many forms because one who celebrates and does backflips that a girl likes him is the same that will become depressed when she moves on with the next who isn’t as emotional and thus presents more of a challenge for the feminine principle. Its wild, isn’t it? How back to front and inverted everything is. Its almost like we’ve been faultily programmed, en masse, and most never stopped to question it. Truly, if what you’re doing isn’t generating the life you wish or expected then isn’t that a good time for a reality check?
Thing is most people are like cattle that are prodded by external expectations and thus possess less within as their concepts of self are referential and not internally begetting their definition. Such people, the fat of the land, see moderation as a sin because they’re all about the super duper size me portion and a second helping chased down with an antacid and a handful of pills their doctor says will cure their ills. Are you starting to see the nature of the scam? They’re all in on it. Big business, Big pharma, Big media – heck all the bigs – want to make you as obese as them whilst psycho spiritually bankrupting your true potential via the art of misdirection that sings “Get them consumed on their own consumption by offering just a little of what it is they think they’re wanting and they’ll create a habit of a lifetime which is death in ever increasing portions”.

Whoops, looks like the cat is out of the bag in that respect because anyone with three eyes in their head can see the truth of this premise as its what makes tills ring because one says “Purchase this, it will make you attractive” so you do and nothing happens so you listen to the other limb, preaching “With shiny of visions of happiness and bliss in a form that is as delicious as it convenient, you should eat this because you’re special and deserve it”. But then they’re not feeling much beyond a lightly spread terminal illness and, not wishing to change their habits, they speak to the medicine man (as sponsored by corporate interests) who prescripts them whatever the salesman told him would generate the most dividends and is the latest in patented tech and advancements. To them the art of moderation is the greatest sin because it can place a dent in their bottom line and the last thing they want is a Self aware populace that dwell in the Knowledge and thus make the optimal decisions about their nutrition and lifestyle in accordance with a greater inner resonance and state of coherence.
In such a world the brands spells and other magic woven by their stick would be totally ineffective because anyone can make things complicated but it takes a genius to remain simple and get the message across to your awareness. Hint, hint you are this. At your base and most fundamental essence. That which I call Inner Sense and its presence is the complete antithesis to these corporate shenanigans as evidenced by the times, back when, when a child would get an expensive gift and have more fun with the box it came in due to their imagination and what they could make it. Once this is absent, missing, presumed dead, then its open season for the pimping of the Adulterated as they’ll line up for any type of solution, pills and potions to generate the restitution of what they can only do from within:
Reconnection. Its not called re-membering for nothing as you once were in but then exited your consciousness and chose instead to dwell on the outskirts of your mind with a life that stands as testament to the facts of all I’ve said. Are you listening? Are you willing to make that change? Can you see that if the way you’d done things was effective you wouldn’t be feeling such a mess and pretending hard it isn’t obvious?
Two spoons less can generate an abundance but such simple out things hint at a far more profound inner wisdom. Here endeth the lesson. As a parting gift its not so much that foods and waters everywhere are poisoned (as intended) but the fact that most peoples emotions are tearing them apart from within and they have no clue of how to Self regulate this. This ignorance is what detests the art of moderation because it knows once it clicks and you assert your will it can no longer continue to pimp your existence by pulling on its invisible strings that have you running, that way and this, in search of ineffective solutions whilst racking up more and more actual problems.
Till we meet again
